They can be helpful in the validation of quality movers and can advise consumers of illegal operators and the ramifications of making a bad decision. Most associations will also help consumers with issues related to their members or direct them to regulators for illegal or unethical actions. In California consumers can visit the website for  the California Moving and Storage Association (CMSA) www.thecmsa.org and call to get recommendations from among over 430 moving companies. If you have already chosen a company and want to verify their status as a permitted carrier CMSA will provide you with that  information. Back to Top
